Growth In Population And Crime
Between 2017 and 2022: Montgomery County’s population grew from 574,542 to 678,849 or almost 19% at the same time, serious crimes nearly doubled
In 2022, a clearance rate – cases solved – by the MCSO sank to dangerous levels of 18%

Between 2019 and 2023, more than 155,000 911 calls to MCSO went unanswered
The MCSO is also NOT currently meeting the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) call answering standard
